Empowering Employees & Working Professionals Live Life on Their Own Terms by Changing the Way They Think
I had my life all planned out, or should I say I was following the one that had already been scripted out for me. I went to school, got good grades, graduated from college, and even went back to get my master's degree. The only part of the equation remaining was to find that well-paying job so I could work and make millions until it was time to retire. Simple right?
Unfortunately, that's not the way the cookie crumbled for me. With my degree, my expectation was to obtain an entry-level position in my field with a starting salary of at least $40,000.
Imagine how shocked I was to discover the starting salary for my first job would be a measly $24,000! I thought to myself, "This isn't how I envisioned this turning out".
I saw my dream life go down the tubes in a matter of minutes. I was upset to say the least, but I had a plan. I would work there three to five years to get some experience and then I was leaving the state!
Then, as if that weren't enough, the unfathomable happened. Two years later, I got laid off due to budget cuts. This time I was devastated. I did everything they told me to do and still ended up be thhinde proverbial "eight ball".
From that day forward, my trust and confidence in the default pathway of going to school, getting a degree, and finding a well-paying job was decimated. The system had failed me for the last time.
It took eight months to find another job. That was a really low period in my life. I felt less than a man because I was still living with my parents and was not nearly making enough to move out on my own. I felt trapped to say the least. But I discovered something during that time that would change my entire outlook on life.
I realized that it was my responsibility to create the lifestyle I desired, and that no one owed me anything. If it was to be, it would be up to me.
I made up my mind that I would do whatever necessary to position myself and family to live LIFE on MY TERMS.
I also had the epiphany that I had to drastically change my thinking in regards to work, time, money, and education if I wanted to see things change in my life. SO that's exactly what I did.
I committed myself to personal development and changing my mindset.
Of course I found another job, but I was becoming a different person with a different vision for my life. I started my own consulting business and wrote two books. I also began speaking, mentoring boys and young men to become entrepreneurs.
My books did very well and I started seeing the power of having multiple streams of income.
Although I worked a full-time job, I knew at some point I would have to take that leap of faith and pursue the freedom-lifestyle I had dreamed of living. In June of 2021 I took that leap of faith and left my 9-to-5.
Now I am living out my passion of writing, creating, consulting, coaching others who have a similar desire as I to break free of the default path of life so they can life on their own terms.
If that you, know that you don't have to settle for less than you desire or deserve. If you believe you can have that life you dreamed of living enough to pursue it, you can have it. And that's exactly what I AM here to help you do.
See you on the other side!
